Optimum regulatory requirements can only be created by studying and benchmarking the trends. Benchmarks can be improved over a period with continuous measurements. Regulations ensuring continuous measurement is the key to successful governance. It needs integrated building at each level from simple field devices to the cloud. Indian industry is run by several national and international players. This makes it imperative to have standardization and interoperability based on open standards and protocols to make the Digital India vision successful. With the population growth projected, India would rather need to lead the evolution by further defining the standards for local problem statements with global lookout. Such industrial leadership ensures capability to compete and export globally.
Regulations which are key to the future, mandate following requirements for Smart Infrastructure:
Integrated Buildings ensuring uninterrupted and authentic data flow
Access to the data of national interest to government by all private and public spaces with the following objectives:
Safety and security of people
Environmental conservation (Water, Energy management, CO2 emission etc.)
Creating level playing field
Boosting export capability by promoting innovation and standardization
